Some companies replace a handful of parts at the major bottle necks where we modify and adjust the entire circuit.

For customers that inquire, the Circuit modification will yield much higher performance results from the circuit than the transformer upgrade and is a better value.

Since the Premier series comes stock with Canrhill transformers and are the appropriate Pro grade version no upgrade option is offered on the service.

About the Modifications:

We all know these preamps pack a good price to performance ratio but with the modifications they simply sound excellent with better bandwidth, higher headroom and sound less muddy to boot.

The Premier series features THE look you have been waiting for in a clone of the classic Neve circuit and comes with Carnhill transformers as standard, but still has some room for improvement in the Headroom and Slew rate of the amp. The power supply is cleaner but still needs some tweaks and a bit lower noise.

The character smoothes out even further and the noise floor is lowered to a point where the audio is just right and perfect for top tier studios

What we do:

We pull all of the transistors out and replace them with high HFE transistors for better bandwidth and lower noise to more closely resemble the original Neve design.

We then pull all of the caps out the unit and replace them with long life, audio grade Panasonic capacitors for even lower noise and better musicality.

The power supply is then upgraded for longer life, lower noise and better filtration of noise as the icing on the cake.

You won’t find a nicer sounding 73 for under 1K, simply excellent.
