These classic compressors run the world and are a must have for any studio which is why we decided to offer this modification nearly 10 years ago to public.

The modifications take these classic compressors to the next level with warmer, more musical audio as well as overall fidelity.

The service increases the headroom of the unit, widens the frequency response, increases the detail and depth of the audio.

It also lowers overall noise in the unit and rejuvenates them as well with our cleaning and power supply rebuild.

Here is what the service includes:
1) Burr Brown input and output stage mod (gives the unit a more full detailed three dimensional sound with increased frequency response).
2) PSU re-cap and mod lowers noise, re-rejuvenates and helps increase the current supply. It also gives the unit a fuller sound.
3) Cleaning of all electro-mechanical switches and potentiometers.
4) Basic Calibration

We also offer a VCA upgrade for these units for an additional $35 that replaces the old DBX VCA with a newer low noise "A" Rated That 2180A series VCA.

This gives the unit a smoother compression character with lower noise, better bandwidth and really is a great mod to any 160 or 166 compressor from this era.
