On the 166/266, we offer various tiers of modifications with our Gold and Platinum Modification Packages.

Note: On XS we only offer one tier since the VCA is encapsulated with the RMS detector, We instead modify the circuit around the VCA to get a more traditional VU character from the box. 

If purchasing a service for XS simply select the basic package at checkout.

Gold Package:

Includes a full analog path modification plus power supply modification:

Platinum Package with VCA and Germanium mod:

Includes all of the Gold package options+ an "A" Rated Dual VCA upgrade and sidechain modification for the Lowest distortion possible, also includes Germanium Limiter modifications: $275.00

Here is what the service includes:

1) Burr Brown input and output stage modifications (gives the unit a more full detailed three dimensional sound with increased frequency response).
 

2) PSU re-cap and modification: lowers noise, re-rejuvenates and helps increase the current supply. It also gives the unit a fuller sound.
 

3) Germanium Limiter modification for smooth limiting response. 
 

4) Cleaning of all electro-mechanical switches and potentiometers.
 

5)Sidechain modifications for less pumping with low frequency material for a nice thick low end. 

The result is a Professional compressor that Pro Studios and Project studios will find daily use for.

With the Dual VCA upgrade our one 166/266 is called the SSL modification for a reason as it has all the character of a classic SSL Buss comp.
