Modification Services for Urei LA4A Compressors

On the LA4A (applies to all versions), we offer a wonderful upgrade that lowers the noise, increases the headroom, increases the bandwidth and detail and rejuvenates the circuit. 

Once your purchase is complete you will be contacted with Mailing instructions, Work Order# and Work Order form for our mail in service.

These are a classic circuit with a flavor that is all thier own. 

The circuit at this age leaves a bit to be desired and in general, needs maintence. The amps in the circuit are now regarded as a pretty poor and noisy performer, the capacitors are also very often close to dried out or close to shorting with high resistance. 

Here is what the service includes:
1) Burr Brown input and output stage modifications (gives the unit a more full detailed three dimensional sound with increased frequency response).

This replaces the RC4136 amps in the circuit, noise is reduced and fidelity is drastically increased. 
 

2) PSU re-cap and modification: lowers noise, re-rejuvenates and helps increase the current supply. It also gives the unit a fuller sound.
 

3) Full Recap of the capacitors+VU Lamps
 

4) Cleaning of all electro-mechanical switches and potentiometers.
 

5) Calibration of the GR circuit/ VU and CMRR
