1176 Fet Limiter/Compressor
Our Revive Audio M76 Fet Limiting amplifier is an authentic design from the classic revision D unit.
It is an all discrete design that sounds like an 1176 should, a great compressor that is smooth when compressing, has excellent bass response and makes you want to use it on everything!
Our current model uses Custom Cinemag transformers in conjunction with a custom designed Mu76 Mainboard. Cinemag was kind enough to design us an input transformer keeping the UTC-012 original design in mind while imparting that wonderful Cinemag tone and wonderful performance. The Revision D is often described as being the smoothest of all versions.
The M76 like most 1176's, functions differently than your average compressor in that there is no external threshold control. The user simply drives the input into the preset threshold to induce compression. This is not only one of the things that makes the 1176 sound so good, but also what makes it a mystery to some users. An interesting side note is that the line amp inside the card that drives the signal into compression can also be used in bypass as a mic preamp with around 45 Db of gain and is similar to the line amp used in the famous 1108 preamp of course without pad, phase or phantom.
These beautiful Fet Limiting Amplifiers are handmade here in our shop in the USA and are completely hand wired like all of our models.
Our M76 model comes with a full three year warranty and is built to the highest standard using the highest quality components.
